Its New York offices were on floors 92 and 98-105 of the [[Two World Trade Center tenants|south tower]] of the [[World Trade Center]] at the time of the [[September 11, 2001 attacks|September 11, 2001 terrorist attack]]. [[New York]] [[Attorney General]] [[Eliot Spitzer]] and other state attorneys general investigated Aon and several other commercial insurance brokers' business practices in 2004 and 2005. In the spring of 2005, without acknowledging any wrongdoing, Aon agreed to a $190 million [[Settlement (litigation)|settlement]] payable over 30 months.<ref>{{cite web
