back on the road
Three months after my bike accident, I finally got a replacement bike! I picked it up today and rode it home from the shop. This time I got proper bike shoes for clip pedals, so that will take some getting used to. I may wish that there were a way to easily switch between clip shoes and regular shoes, but we'll see. I spent some time this evening swapping gear from my old bike to the new one.

We've had amazing spring weather for the last week or so, and I've been itching to get riding again. My wrist (which was sprained in the accident, if I hadn't mentioned that) is doing well with physio treatment. As the weather gets better I've been seeing more and more cyclists on the road. Finally, I'm back with them.

No easy way to switch shoes, but you can get pedals that can work with clip shoes and regular shoes.

I got a set of these. Makes it so that if I want to run to the store or take the kids to the park, I can just go and not worry about changing shoes.

That looks like a good idea, thanks for the tip. I rode today and changing shoes wasn't a problem, but I can see it might be an issue for shorter trips.

Well, the following link might shed some light on a solution (http://www.rei.com/product/765129). A shoe like this with the little cutout for the SPD or the like is whatcha need... they are reasonably comfortable to walk in but can clip as well. Randy

That looks like exactly what I need. I'll see if I can find something like that locally.
