Today, my colo server at
800hosting had been up and stable for 383 days. I got an email from them a few weeks back saying that they were going to physically move some racks around and that my machine would be shut down for some time during a specific 1.5 hour interval. It's always nerve-wracking when your server located halfway around the planet has to go down and all you can do is hope it comes back.
I must commend 800hosting on a smoothly executed move. My machine went down for just under an hour, right within the interval they said. It came back up with no trouble, and aside from a brief network outage just after it was restarted, everything went exactly according to plan. Well done.
