On January 25, 1999, it actually snowed in Bakersfield, California! This is not even a rare event -- it basically never happens. The last time a measurable amount of snow fell was in 1972 (or so I hear), and there has never been anything like this in this city's recorded history.

This was taken around 7am outside my patio.	Many trees here couldn't stand the weight of the snow.	This is Highway 178, normally a six lane freeway.
I was the only one who actually made it to work on time...	...thanks to my Land Rover, which hardly noticed the snow.	And end-of-day shot.
